activ and Kcell subscribers can now pay the fare using their mobile balance in Almaty

We are pleased to announce that it has become even more convenient to pay the fare on public transport in Almaty. Kcell and Activ subscribers can do it using mobile balance from February 5, 2020.

You can pay the fare by sending an SMS with a six-digit code of transport at the ONAY terminal to the short number 9909. After that, the subscriber receives an SMS with an electronic ticket, which must be presented to the controller at the request. In this case, the fare is deducted from the balance.

This method of payment is available on all routes where you can pay with the ONAY card. Sending SMS to 9909 is free of charge. At the moment of fare payment there should be a sufficient amount on the balance. Ticket is valid for one trip.

“Kcell is constantly expanding its subscribers' opportunities. Our mobile financial services are already over 200 different services. Utility payments, parking fees, goods, ads, games, coupons, tickets - all this and much more, Kcell and activ subscribers easily pay with the balance of their mobile numbers. Literally last year we launched mobile balance payments for toll roads.  Now residents and guests of Almaty can pay for travel on public transport using the balance of their mobile phones. Don't worry, if you suddenly forgot your ONAY card at home or came to Almaty for a few days and didn't have time to buy it. It is enough just to have the necessary amount on the balance of Activ and Kcell numbers. We are sure that payment with the help of balance will be an excellent and convenient alternative to cash payment. In the future we plan to further develop mobile financial services for our subscribers and increase the geography of services”, said Alexander Trapezin, Head of the Mobile Financial Services Department of the Kcell JSC

We remind you that activ and Kcell subscribers can also pay the fare in public transport in Nur-Sultan, Aktobe, Uralsk, Shymkent, Kyzylorda and Petropavlovsk.
